Something Old, Something New

A box arrived yesterday that I'd been waiting almost a month for - inside was the Bird on a Branch stamp set that I finally got around to ordering, just a week before I found out it would be retiring.

This morning when I sat down to play I looked around online for a bit for inspiration and I found the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge #127:

Here is what I came up with:

I LOVE how it turned out. As the tile of this post indicates I used a bit of old and new to make this card.  The old would be retiring stamp set Bird on a Branch and the new would be the luscious new color, Cherry Cobbler.  I'm loving the deep, rich red.

I'm Back!

After a long hiatus from my craft blog, I'm back! In case you were wondering about my absence, life just got a bit overwhelming and I had to reevaluate a few priorities. Now that things have calmed a bit I have time to post here again, and I hope to do so on a somewhat regular basis.

Now that I'm back will you take a sneak peek as a consolation for my absence? This month has been full of Stampin' Up! excitement with the Last Chance Lists coming out and getting ready for the debut of the new Idea Book and Catalog. I've also spent a lot of time reorganizing my supplies with the new colors!  They are fabulous, I'm loving the change.
