If you've been a regular follower of this blog (thank you!) you've probably noticed that I went silent in September.  Things have been absolutely nuts!! We've traveled a lot and are now in the process of moving back to the US.  All of my craft stuff has been packed up and shipped (sniff, sniff) so I'm sad to say that I haven't been able to make anything fun for the holidays!

Once we are settled back in the States I will resume sharing all sorts of fun Stampin' Up! craft ideas.  In the meantime if you are feeling crafty my website is open 24/7 for all of your crafty needs and wants!  Stampin' Up! also has the Handmade Holiday Promotion going on now!

If you'd like to purchase any of these bundles (or other fantastic Stampin' Up! products) click here!

Have a wonderful holiday season, and please don't hesitate to contact me at anglouise@gmail.com if you have any Stampin' Up! questions!

Stamping on Candles

I've had a few lovely, white, square candles tucked away in a closet for months.  A friend gave them to me when she moved and I knew they were perfect for a stamp project.  A few days ago I pulled them out and decided to decorate them for sale at the flea market later this month.

Style Beautiful stamped in Real Red

Artistic Etchings stamped in Chocolate Chip

Apple Blossoms stamped in Wild Wasabi

Punched Posies stamped in Rich Razzleberry

If you'd like to learn how to stamp on candles just leave me a comment and I'll add it to my list of tutorials to share on the blog.

Online Inspiration

I read a lot of craft blogs and I love the pictures of what other creative people have made.  Often this is a source of inspiration for me to come up with my own ideas, but sometimes a card or other project is so perfect that I copy it because I love it so much.

I love how this card turned out, but I can't take credit for the design: that should go to Sandi MacIver.  I did make a few minor changes, but really, if you follow the link and see the original I pretty much copied her beautiful card.

Card Recipe (All Stampin' Up!)
Stamps: Friend Never Fade
Inks: Real Red and Pear Pizazz Stampin' Write Markers
Papers: Daffodil Delight, Real Red, Chocolate Chip, Greenhouse Gala DSP
Accessories: Brights and Neutrals Brads, Paper Piercing Kit, Paper Piercing Tool

Sticky Note Wallet Tutorial

Welcome to my first crafting tutorial! We will be making a sticky note wallet similar to the one I posted a few days ago that we made at my craft class.

First we'll start with a piece of card stock measuring 8 1/4" x 3 1/8".

Score the card stock at 3 1/8", 3 3/8", 6 1/2", and 6 3/4".

Fold on the scored lines.

Using designer paper of your choice cut three pieces: two measuring 2 7/8" x 2 7/8" and one measuring 1" x 2 7/8".

Using the edge punch of your choice punch a border on the flap the overlaps on the front of the wallet.

Using SNAIL adhesive or other adhesive of your choice glue the designer paper to the outside of the wallet.

Next, using stamps and punches of your choice prepare an embellishment for the front of the wallet.  I used a heart shaped stamp and heart punch.

I also sponged around the edge of my punched image to give it a more finished look.

Apply SNAIL adhesive to the top portion of your embellishment.

Apply embellishment to the overlapping flap of your wallet.

Using 2 7/8" x 2 7/8" sticky notes apply a strip of sticky strip to the back of the pad on the top and bottom.

Adhere sticky notes to the inside of the wallet.

Using pre-cut, self adhesive velcro patches apply BOTH pieces of velcro to the back of your embellishment.  When you close the flap the opposing side of the velcro will be placed perfectly.

That's it!  Wasn't it easy? Sticky note wallets are a cute addition to your desk and make great gifts!

Want to make one just like mine?  Here is the supply recipe (All Stampin' Up!):

Stamps: Punch Potpourri
Inks: Basic Black
Papers: Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Newsprint DSP, Sticky Notes
Accessories: Pinking Hearts Border Punch, Full Heart Punch, Stampin' Sponges, Sticky Strip, SNAIL Adhesive

Since this is my first time posting a tutorial I hope that it is clear and concise.  If you have any suggestions for improving tutorials in the future I'd love to hear them.

July Stamp Class - What we made:

This month's stamp class was fantastic!  I had a great group of women to share my craft time with.  We made three projects: a card, a sticky note wallet, and a matchbook gift card holder.  I often showcase cards in my classes, but this month I wanted to add a little bit of variety with non-card projects.

Our first project was a monogrammed sticky note wallet:

Project Recipe (All Stampin' Up! except for the sticky notes)
Stamps: Broadsheet Alphabet
Inks: Basic Black
Papers: Basic Black, Newsprint DSP, Very Vanilla, pad of sticky notes
Accessories: Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Scallop Trip Border

Project number two was a card inspired by one of my favorite cities in the world: Paris!

Card Recipe (All Stampin' Up!)
Stamps: Artistic Etchings, En Francais
Inks: Crumb Cake, Marina Mist, Cajun Craze
Papers: Crumb Cake, Marina Mist, Cajun Craze, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Color Coach, Stampin' Sponges, Marina Mist 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon, Linen Thread

Accessory Note:  I used the Color Coach to find the color combination used in this project.  I probably wouldn't have put these colors together on my own, but I love the result!

Our third and final project of the evening, a matchbook gift card holder, celebrated Christmas in July!

Project Recipe (All Stampin' Up!)
Stamps: Word Play
Inks: Basic Black, Always Artichoke, Cherry Cobbler
Papers: Cherry Cobbler, Always Artichoke, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Stampin' Write Markers, Linen Thread, Mini Glue Dots, Stampin' Sponges

All of these projects were a hit with my class and I hope you like them to!  Check back soon for tutorials on the sticky note wallet and matchbook gift card holder.
